Ask About CAKA İzmirCihat Aşkın and His Little Friends (CAKA) meets young violinists in İzmir in collaboration with Melisa Karan Arts Center. Founded by violin virtuoso Cihat Aşkın, CAKA combines technical study, musical development, regular follow-up and stage experience.
What Is CAKA?
CAKA is a comprehensive violin education model that extends beyond weekly lessons. It aims to develop instrumental technique and musical expression, regular practice habits, familiarity with different repertoire and stage experience.
How Does the Education Progress?
Education is planned in three-month modules. Students participate in regular group sessions. Technical and musical development is assessed, while repertoire work and academic progress reviews track their learning. Each student’s needs and development are considered.
What Happens Beyond Lessons?
Making music together and preparing for the stage are central to CAKA. Mini concerts and end-of-module stage experiences are planned. Masterclasses and special sessions with Cihat Aşkın and artists and educators approved by CAKA may also be offered. Details and schedules are announced as part of the programme.
What Does the Programme Aim to Develop?
Regular education and progress reviews help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Group work supports listening and making music together. Repertoire and stage work develop musical expression and performance experience.
Certification
Students who successfully complete a module receive a CAKA Achievement Certificate. Students separately enrolled in Melisa Karan Arts Center’s Ministry of National Education (MEB) education system who complete the relevant studies may also obtain an MEB-approved certificate. These two documents depend on separate education processes.
When Does CAKA İzmir Begin?
CAKA İzmir violin education begins at Melisa Karan Arts Center on 1 October 2026.
